While some ladies may remember the Old School as the former MGS site, it has recently undergone a revival into an art hub for fashion designers, photographers, media, and Chalk, which is housed in the school's former science lab. The bistro was christened Chalk in honour of this heritage and opened its doors in November of 2008.

Chalk is very simply, a casual dining bistro. Our concept is very raw, organic and unpretentious. In fact, Marcus and Lauren designed the restaurant to feel much like their own home. There is a home library, lounge, wine cellar, more often than not, an office, and of course, kitchen and dining room.

We cook for our guests the same way we would our own family, with heart, to produce very warm and homely meals. We take no short cuts and produce most everything in house, from the bread to the ice cream.

Essentially, we hope that you feel as comfortable at Chalk as you do in your own home.
